LASER stands for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. Laser has become very popular nowadays are looked as a very effective method of treating many problems especially those related to the skin. It is part of the dermatologists' physical treatments and is a quick solution to any skin problem including acne. Laser treatment for acne is done by specialized people and is not a simple method. Let us see how acnes are treated with laser.

Laser treatment of acne is done by using radiation. This kills the acne causing bacteria from the skin and shrinks the oil producing glands thereby preventing future break outs. There are many treatments available under laser therapy and the right treatment will be chosen for you after careful examination of the acnes in your face or body.

The treatment will start with the application of a special gel on the skin, and then the laser headpiece will be glided over the affected area in a brushing motion. The laser light will come out from the headpiece and penetrate into your skin and treat the acnes. It is important to protect the eyes during the treatment. A proper covering is placed over the eyes so that the light may not harm the eyes.

Laser acne treatments are not painful but there may be feelings of stinging or burning in the skin. To make the process more comfortable, the physicist may use a small dose of topical anesthetic on you. It is important that all sorts of drug taking should be stopped before the treatment starts. It is a very quick treatment and takes very less time that the person being treated may go back to the daily activities after the treatment.

There are some after effects of the treatment but none are serious. The area where the lights penetrated may swell up a bit and may look a bit flushed but this will disappear within hours or days. The person may also have to go for repeated treatment if the treatment doesn't prove well in the early first treatments. It is very important to apply sunscreen on the area before stepping out and make up can also be applied immediately after the treatment.

The process is fast and there are no side effects. The laser acne treatment can be used by any age group. The disadvantage however is that the treatment is expensive ad therefore cannot be afforded by many.

Getting your child to brush their teeth shouldn't be too difficult. It just takes a bit of mental discipline and time for the child to develop the habit of doing it. There are some basic things that you can focus on in order to get them on the right track.

1. While you want your child to get their teeth clean, this does not mean that they need a large amount of toothpaste on the brush. As with adults, only a pea-sized amount of toothpaste is needed. If you give them too much, then the foam will start to interfere with the brushing strokes. Too much toothpaste can also be unhealthy for your child. The fluoride in the toothpaste can cause your child to get an upset stomach if they eat too much of it. While swallowing the toothpaste is normal for kids, try to encourage your child to spit more into the sink and swallow less.

2. Never think that your child is too young to start brushing their teeth. Even toddlers that have very little teeth should learn what brushing is so that they can get used to it. It also feels wonderful on their teething gums. If your child is too little to brush their teeth, then doing it for them is always the best option. You and your child should discuss a comfortable brushing position, which is often standing beside or behind your child with your arm reaching around their head. Stand in front of a mirror with your child on a stool so that they can see what you are doing.

3. Most dentists recommend that you brush for a certain amount of time. This helps to make sure that your child is covering all of the teeth during the brushing period. A timer will make the process easier, or you can buy your child a toothbrush that will play a song for the time needed to brush. Never make your child think that brushing is a punishment. If you use a timer for timeouts, then do not use it for timing their brushing.

4. Do it by the numbers. An example would be to count out loud to 15 or 20 in order to get one area thoroughly brushed and then move on to the next. You'll basically be breaking brushing down into a few simple sections such as top, bottom, front, back, middle. Have them brush each area while you count and then have them count too themselves. It will also help them with their math!

5. Make it fun. Brushing teeth can be boring, especially for a child, but if you try to find ways of making it fun it can turn out to be a positive experience and may even allow you to bond with your child a bit more.

Caffeine and High Blood Pressure

Posted by administrator Friday, October 3, 2008 0 comments

Does drinking too much caffeine raise your blood pressure? One might automatically think that it does, but you may be surprised to learn more.

What Is Caffeine and Where Does It Come From?

Caffeine is a mild stimulant found in coffee, tea, most soft drinks, and even chocolate.
While caffeine is a stimulant similar to cocaine and methamphetamine, caffeine is so much milder that they can't really be compared. But since tea and coffee are the most popular drinks and millions of people suffer from high blood pressure, several studies have been done to try to determine if caffeine has detrimental effects on the heart.

How Does Caffeine Affect Your Blood Pressure?

It has been shown that drinking caffeine can cause a short term rise in both systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Many scientists believe that this short term burst is a direct result of caffeine contributing to constricting blood vessels.

However, the studies on caffeine and long-term effects on high blood pressure are a bit less conclusive. In men, a study found that some that drank beverages with caffeine on a regular basis did have a wider range of blood pressure - in essence, their blood pressure fluctuated when they drank caffeine. But it seemed that the more caffeine they drank, the less their blood pressure fluctuated. It was almost as if their bodies became used to the caffeine and it had a lesser effect the more they drank. On the other hand, other men's blood pressure remained normal whether they drank caffeine or not.

A study in women concerning caffeine and high blood pressure showed about the same results - with one interesting fact. Women drinking caffeinated soft drinks showed an increase in blood pressure, while women drinking caffeinated coffee did not have the same results. In fact, it seemed that some women who drank caffeinated coffee actually had lower blood pressure.

The Verdict on Caffeine and High Blood Pressure

So what can we learn from these studies? Well, it seems that the relationship between caffeine and high blood pressure is still a little fuzzy. But we can still pull out some healthy information. Since the studies indicate that caffeine effects different people in different ways, doctors recommend that you limit your daily caffeine consumption to 200 milligrams - about what you would find in two 12-ounce cups of coffee. Also, since caffeine has been proven to raise blood pressure in the short-term, you should not consume caffeine before activities that naturally increase your blood pressure - activities such as exercise, physical labor, or sex.

If you are worried about your heart health, then you need to learn more about Carotenoid Complex. Carotenoid Complex has been proven to reduce risks for cancer and heart disease, enhance immunity, and promote tissue protection.

Also, you can get rewarded by helping others to better health. It's fun and life-changing to see that you made a difference!

High blood pressure is one of the biggest killers, if not the biggest killer in the entire world - especially in the western world. But how could that be? We all live a happy life, we have a house, a family, friends, a decent job. Compared to the people who starve to death in Africa we are doing fantastic. Right?

Well the answer is NO. Our health is getting worse and the quality of our life is going downhill. So much is talked about hypertension, but none of that information is very helpful, if we are still sick and die. Could it be possible that for some reason, somebody actually wants us to be sick?

Well, if you consider how many people are effected by blood pressure, how expensive the drugs are, the highly stressful life we live, the junk, that some call food that we eat, then it could be possible. The companies that make and produce all these "helpful" drugs and pills, must be swimming in money. It seems that nobody cares if you get sick and die.

I am not an expert in high blood pressure or anything, but there are a few things that even I can think of that helps.

Food - one of the main causes of high blood pressure. Some people that have hypertension still eat junk food, because they think that the drugs they eat will protect them. Cut down on your salt intake and get your weight down to normal if you are overweight, cut down your consumption of sugar, fat and red meat. You can try eating garlic and drinking celery juice and healthy foods in general.

Stress - Take time off to relax for a while at least once a day. People have million things to think and worry about in a day. We cannot sleep or relax. All of that builds up emotional problems which lead to high blood pressure.

A good method to relax is by meditating. Try to find a quiet place without any annoying factors. Then lay down or sit on a chair, it does not matter. Close your eyes a try to relax and not think of anything. One good way to keep your thoughts out is to say a mantra. Something like: sehr-ing, da-room, ra-zing, ca-ouher, sah-roon. This will keep your mind busy and hopefully keep the thoughts away. It does not work for everyone and also takes some time until you can see some results. It is like learning to play a piano. Anyone can play a piano, but not everyone does it.

Medication - A pill is not magic that cures all your health problems. My advice to you is not to take that junk. It is expensive, not effective, has many dangerous side effects, does not solve the problem and gives a false sense of security. You have to find the root of the problem and fix the it. If high blood pressure is getting worse all over the world, then that means the drugs do not work.

There is always a solution to every problem. The trick is to know where to look. The real truth is often hidden from people and anyone who wants to find answers, has to look very hard. If you want to find natural cures for high blood pressure than look at this link. http://www.usfreeads.com/1413273-cls.html
